Trisha Burbach

Music Theory

Mrs. Burbach has wide-ranging music skills that have allowed her to teach at the High School, Middle School, Elementary level and even as a certified teacher to children aged five and under. She sang on the worship team at First Baptist Church at Weston where she served for ten years. She also teaches voice lessons from home. 

In Durango, Colorado, Mrs. Burbach was the assistant director of the highly successful Children’s Chorale (2001-2007) where she helped plan and run their frequent performances, yearly music camps, and even a choir tour to New York City.  She frequently sang with and performed solos for the Durango Choral Society. In addition to singing and teaching lessons, Mrs. Burbach was an elementary music teacher where she was recognized for her outstanding teaching ability when she earned the Best First Year Teacher Award.  In addition, she taught Music Theory at BCEP the past 3 years. Her teaching includes ear training, workbook learning and music games.

Mrs. Burbach has been the music director for PSG’s Encore Drama students for the last 5 years.  She has successfully led her students to achieve amazing performances vocally (Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Fiddler on the Roof, Anastasia, Hello Dolly, Shrek, Cinderella, and Frozen) through teaching healthy techniques and helping them find/grow their voice.

She has been homeschooling for 10 years. Mrs. Burbach received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree specializing in vocal studies from Fort Lewis College in Colorado.  She has a wonderful husband who is the Music Director of Choral Activities at Broward College, and together they raise four children.

Vanessa Campillo

U.S. History, World History, and Middle School World History

Vanessa Campillo is the mother of 15-year-old, Jayla Campillo, 14- year old, Kal-EL Campillo,and 4 year old, Kataleya Campillo. She was born in Miami from Colombian parents. She graduated from Carol City Sr. High School in 2001, then received her Communications Degree from Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2004. She has worked as a journalist for ESPN Deportes, Univision, and Mega TV. Vanessa was also a traveling reporter working in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Her journalism career came to an end when she had her first born in 2008 and became a stay-at-home mom. In 2012, Vanessa decided to homeschool her 2 oldest. Since then, she has been very much involved in her homeschool community teaching Middle/High School Spanish and History. Ms. Campillo also loves to work with special needs kids. She is a Registered Behavior Technician and works with ASD children at their homes and school.     

Mary Kinney

5th and 6th Grade Enrichment Block Schedules 

Mary Kinney, born and raised in Miami, Florida, resides in Hollywood with her husband and their three children, who they homeschooled from kindergarten to college. Mrs. Kinney met her husband Roger, also a teacher, at Miami Christian College ( now TIU), where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in both Bible and Education. A Florida state-certified teacher, Mrs. Kinney has 40 years of experience, teaching students of various grade levels at Sheridan Hills Christian School and Miami Christian School for the first 11 years of her career, then teaching homeschooled children of all ages every year ever since! While serving the Broward PSG as a high school teacher for BEHC, then as middle school teacher for BCEP, Mrs. Kinney has also enjoyed offering Enrichment Programs at various churches for twelve years. This year, she is excited to bring these wonderfully fun and educational 3 hour long programs to our BCEP sixth graders, AND FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, TO OUR FIFTH GRADERS AS WELL

Johnny Maury

Physical Science, Biology, Physics, and M/S General Science 

Johnny Maury, known to many as "Mr. Johnny," holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. He has also fulfilled the academic requirements towards a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University. Mr. Johnny has experience teaching/tutoring students at the high-school and undergraduate college levels in Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the US for over 10 years. He also worked as a graduate teaching assistant of college undergraduate and graduate courses for 7 years at North Carolina State University. These courses include Chemical Process Principles, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics (undergraduate and advanced), and Fundamentals of Transport Phenomena. As a graduate research assistant, he performed computer simulations of polymeric and biological systems, co-authoring five scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. He currently works for Creation Studies Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At Creation Studies Institute, he assists with the academic programs, research projects, and he leads the Spanish-outreach efforts. Although he has taught at the upper levels, Mr. Johnny loves to draw younger children into the realm of science through hands on experiences that enable them to see their world through God's eyes and hopefully develop a love for science at the same time! 

 

Mr. Johnny was born in Colombia and has been married to his wife Alesha since 2014. He has a passion to reach English and Spanish-speaking communities with God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s creation.

Jared Parker

Math and Logic Tutor

Jared Parker was homeschooled as the youngest of 5 children. He spent 3 years of high school in Classical Conversations. In May 2020, he graduated with highest honors from Miami-Dade College with an Associate of Arts degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his time in college, he found a passion for helping fellow students excel in various subjects. Currently, he has taken on the task of tutoring, both in person and virtually, in various subjects, but primarily math and logic. He enjoys tutoring because seeing students thrive, go beyond what they think they are capable of accomplishing, and finding a joy in learning brings great satisfaction to him.

Robin Parker

Algebra I & 2, Advanced Math, and Logic

Robin Parker graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1978 with a Bachelor of

Science in Banking and Finance. In 1980, she married her husband, David Parker, and began

homeschooling the first of their five children in 1991. For 26 years, she helped progress their

children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Their oldest 3 boys graduated from one of the

following schools: Liberty University, Florida International University, and Savannah College of Art

and Design respectively. Their only daughter graduated with a nursing degree from Florida

International University in May 2016 and works full time in her field while their youngest son graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate of Arts degree in 2020. The Parkers are now the proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren - 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters.

In 2011, Robin found her niche when she was asked to tutor the Challenge B class in Classical

Conversations. She was privileged to facilitate over 30 students for 3 years in that program

discovering a love of learning for herself as well as a delight in seeing the “light bulb” go on when a

student finally understood a difficult subject. Robin facilitated Algebra I, Algebra 2, and Part A of

Advanced Math consecutively, as well as Logic, Mock Trial, Latin, Literature, and Science. She has

also been blessed to tutor students in the Math portion of the SAT and help them increase their

scores. In 2017, she was privileged to be added to the BEHC program beginning with Pre-Algebra,

and subsequently added Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Advanced Math and Logic. Since 2019 Robin has

been an integral instructor at BCEP – the Broward Cooperative Education Program – where she

continues helping students master Math and Logic.

Dolores Rodriguez

Spanish 1 and Spanish 2, Monitor

Mrs. Dolores Rodriguez graduated from Universidad Tecnológica de México in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 1998 she obtained her ISO 9001 Certification as a Quality Systems Auditor (CQA). She has worked for 3 years giving consultancies for the Implementation of Quality Systems. She was teaching classes in Processes of Administrative Systems and Quality Systems at the Technological University of Mexico, and for 5 years she was working in the company of VITRO ENVASES in the Department of Statistical Control of Processes. 

She is the mom of four children, Samantha, Valery, Jonathan, and Joyce. She and her husband Saul decided to homeschool after her youngest daughter (Joyce) was ready to start school.  It was a change with many challenges, but God always provides the right tools to continue this adventure. Taking Advantage of the Dual Enrollment Program for their oldest daughters (Samantha and Valery) and were blessed to graduate from Broward College with a Bachelor's Degrees in IT (Technologic Management and Web Development

Specialization).  Jonathan and Joyce are in 12th and 8th grades respectively.

Señora Dolores understands the importance of providing a good education for children, and she is very excited to have the opportunity to participate in BCEP teaching Spanish as it is her native language.

Adam Starr

Bible

Pastor Adam is currently the Executive and Youth Pastor at Harvest Preparation Ministries, where he will be transitioning into the role of Senior Pastor this coming fall. He has led the youth department for over 10 years. During this time span, he was and currently is a committed First Priority Club leader. Pastor Adam has chartered the First Priority and Game Day Clubs at Somerset Academy Village in Wilton Manors, FL, creating an environment for children who may not otherwise have been exposed to the Gospel, to play, discuss, and understand the Good News. Pastor Adam has taught Bible for 6-8th grade students at Holy Cross Lutheran School, and is passionate about living out the Great Commission and sharing the love of Christ with others, no matter where he is. 

He is the father of 4 children, whom he and his wife homeschooled for four years, prior to their transition to a Christian Private School. He is excited to explore this opportunity to walk alongside families in the discipleship of their children. 

Racquel Turner

Middle School English, PreAlgebra, and Art

Racquel D’Oyley-Turner is a mother of 4. She has been homeschooling since 2017. She has graduated two children with Classical Conversations. She started as a Foundations and Essentials tutor and Art Enrichment Director for kindergarten through elementary school. She is currently a second-year director of the Challenge A 7th grade Program in Classical Conversions. She has also tutored numerous students in Language Arts and Math. She loves the Lord and aims to show how we can see and know him through each subject by encouraging young people to expand their capacity and love for learning with a Christ centered view. She is excited to teach 7/8 grade Math, English and Art in the 2024-2025 school year.
